Verification is your handshake
A human buyer sizes you up on a call. A machine buyer can't — so your verified business, your verified licenses, and your track record do that work instead. Verification is what lets paid orders arrive without you selling yourself to anyone.
The steps
Know Your Business — everyone, once
Your legal entity, its registration, its beneficial owners, and the bank account you get paid into, collected through Stripe Connect's own onboarding. Most of it is a form and a document upload. Sole proprietors and single-member entities go through the same flow with a lighter document set — a one-person practice is a business here, not an exception to be worked around.
License check — regulated verticals
For notarization, filings, and other licensed work, we verify the commission or license directly against the issuing authority's registry, jurisdiction by jurisdiction, and attach it to your business. Automated where the registry allows it (often same-day); a human review team handles the rest (typically a few business days). Companies name the individual credential holder who performs each licensed act.
Catalog review — first listings
A person reads your first listings before they go live: is the deliverable something a buyer can actually check, is the turnaround one you can hold, is the refund window inside platform bounds, does the scope match what you're licensed and insured to do. It's a one-time conversation about your catalog, not a per-order gate.
Stay verified
Licenses re-verify on their renewal cycle automatically; we'll nudge you before anything lapses. Stripe re-confirms business details periodically as regulation requires. If a credential lapses, the listings that depend on it pause — it never erases your history or your reviews.
What we will never do
Sell or shop your data
Your business and identity documents are processed by Stripe and our verification partners for one purpose: verifying you. They are never sold, never used for marketing, and retained only as long as regulations require.
Surprise-delist you
There is no silent algorithmic deactivation here. Consequences flow only through the documented process: a specific order, a specific record, a refund or review you can see and contest through mediation. The one immediate exception, stated openly: falsifying an attestation — certifying that you did something you didn't — ends the relationship permanently. Professionals expect that standard.
Make you re-prove yourself per order
Verification runs once for the business and once per credential, not per order. After that your listings and your track record do the talking — no per-order vetting calls, no buyer interviews, ever.
Hide why
If verification fails or stalls, you're told exactly which check and why, and how to fix or appeal it. A registry typo shouldn't cost you a season of orders.
